The chemical formula is C5H11NO2S. Its chemical property is colorless or white shiny flake crystal or white crystalline powder, with a slight special smell and slightly bitter taste. Melting point 280 ~ 281 \u2103. It is unstable to strong acids and can lead to demethylation. Soluble in water (5.6g\/100ml, 30 \u2103), warm dilute ethanol, alkaline solution or dilute inorganic acid. Insoluble in ethanol, almost insoluble in ether.
